So this means you don't have antivirus?
My best bet would be to run the antivirus in safe mode. Get the trial version if you don't have one. I know many colleges offer antivirus CD for free. If you aren't in one of those, find a friend who has Mcafee cd and install Mcafee.
You can't risk running a computer without anti-virus, specially in USA.

Go here http://us.mcafee.com/root/catalog.asp?catid=free and run a free scan first of all. Follow all the instructions carefully. And remove all the unwanted things. We will see the next thing once the online free scan (mentioned above) is done.

you can try free panda Active scan to see if you got any virus or spy/adwares on your computer. After you do panda scan you will be free of viruses and panda active scan will give you the list of spy/Adwares on your computer. then you can manually remove adwares or spywares, if you can not, post the panda report here then, we will look on that.
